Live trip with Live Activity
Tap “Start trip”, put your phone away, go sailing. The stopwatch with your miles keeps running on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island — and when you moor up, one tap turns the passage into a leg in your logbook.
Setup assistant
Four questions, less than a minute: the licence you are aiming for, your sailing area, your units — and the sailing boat on your home screen sets course for your mileage goal.
Web cockpit
Logbook, trainer, nautical chart and trip planning in the browser as well — the same account, the same state, nothing to keep up to date twice.
The leg fills itself in
After the recording, Keelwake enters what it knows: departure and destination harbour from your route, wind and weather from the conditions on site, sailing hours from the time under way. You read it over briefly and tap Save — keeping a logbook then feels like arriving, not like paperwork.

AI study companion for SKS & above
From the German coastal skipper licence (Sportküstenschifferschein, SKS) upwards, answers are written out freely instead of ticked. Your AI study companion reads your answer, compares it with the official model answer and tells you exactly what is still missing — like a patient examiner who always has time for you. Self-assessment becomes real feedback.
Community
See who is sailing where right now — and share your own trips with other Keelwake sailors when you release them. A feed for the sailing area, not a network for its own sake. Privacy first: only what you expressly release is shared.
Wind layer & weather section
Wind direction, wind strength, gusts and how the weather is developing become visible directly on the chart. A dedicated weather section brings together forecasts, time windows and local conditions — for decisions that do not have to be pieced together from several apps.
Intelligent routes & AI navigation
Keelwake calculates comprehensible routes from wind, weather, sailing area, boat and personal experience. On our own vector chart, alternatives appear that explain why a course is a good fit — as an intelligent navigator for better decisions, not as an autopilot.
